About

RemoteChess builds a robotic chessboard with self-moving pieces that brings online chess into the physical world. The board connects to online platforms so players can face friends, rivals, or AI opponents while watching real pieces move across a real-life chessboard. Integrated voice and on-board intelligence can explain moves, walk through openings, and guide new players through full games. By combining online multiplayer chess, an AI chess tutor, and tactile gameplay in a single product, RemoteChess turns digital matches into shared, in-person experiences.

Founded in 2025 by Jeremiah Woldabezgi, RemoteChess grows out of years spent building production-grade hardware in his Vanderbilt dorm for hospitals, labs, and startups. Jeremiah has been inventing devices since he was six and previously launched e-commerce brands that generated $130K in revenue with zero funding. RemoteChess follows that builder-first mindset: starting with chess and expanding into robotic games that make screen-based play more social, intuitive, and accessible to a wider range of players.
