About
Hayla is building a mesh network direct current electric grid for AI accelerator data centers, creating a direct current network specifically focused on AI centers and high-density compute. Its system connects AI accelerator infrastructure over a shared DC mesh, centering the physical grid around the needs and topology of modern AI data centers and treating power distribution as a first-class part of AI infrastructure.
Founded in 2025 by Don Tappan, a mechanical engineer by background, Hayla is grounded in hands-on engineering and iterative product development. Don Tappan has built and refined successive versions of the system, with the latest able to power a full GPU. The company is focused on turning that prototyping work into deployable direct current networks for AI centers, making DC-native infrastructure a core part of how future AI accelerator data centers are planned and built.
