Gather

Gather is a virtual platform that combines video conferencing with customizable 2D environments, enabling users to create interactive spaces for work, socializing, and events. Launched in May 2020, Gather has facilitated millions of connections by allowing users to build their own custom, interactable spaces.

The platform's mission is to remove physical constraints from people's lives by building the Metaverse—a virtual layer over the physical world where people can work, socialize, and learn. Gather's features include virtual offices, birthday parties, university campuses, conferences, and weddings, all designed to bring people together in a more human and engaging way. Gather was founded in 2020 by Kumail (Mohammed Kumail) Jaffer.
