Enso Biosciences builds AI that shows pathologists where to sample a tumour before genomic sequencing. Tumour content in a biopsy is judged by eye from gigapixel slide images, and misjudging it is a leading cause of failed or inconclusive sequencing, which delays treatment. Enso's model reads standard H&E slides and returns annotated tumour maps with per-region purity estimates across 32 solid tumour types; per-tumour performance is published openly at purity.ensohealth.ai. The company was founded by Luca Maria Menga, a physician and biomedical engineer trained at Humanitas University and Politecnico di Milano, with research experience at Harvard Medical School and Stanford. Enso is backed by Founders, Inc. and is based in SF.
